যার অরণ্য এগুলো আমি মনে করি চিনি।
কিন্তু তার বাড়ি তো গ্রামে;
সে দেখবে না আমাকে থেমে যেতে
তুষারে ভরে ওঠা তার অরণ্য দেখতে।
আমার ছোট্ট ঘোড়া নিশ্চয়ই অদ্ভুত ভাবছে,
কারণ আমরা থেমেছি কোনো খামারবাড়ি ছাড়া
অরণ্য আর জমাটবাঁধা হ্রদের মাঝে,
বছরের সবচেয়ে অন্ধকার সন্ধ্যায়।
সে লাগাম ঝাঁকায় ঘণ্টাধ্বনি দিয়ে
যেন জানতে চায় কোনো ভুল হলো কি না।
শুধু আরেকটি শব্দ—
সহজ বাতাস আর নরম তুষারপাতের মৃদু ঝরে পড়া।
অরণ্য সত্যিই সুন্দর, অন্ধকার আর গভীর।
কিন্তু আমার অনেক অঙ্গীকার রাখতে হবে,
ঘুমোবার আগে অনেক পথ যেতে হবে,

Theme in English
The poem expresses the beauty and calm of nature, but also the responsibility of human life. The woods symbolize peace and rest, while the promises and miles represent duties and responsibilities. The poet shows that though rest is attractive, we must continue our journey until our duties are fulfilled.
কবিতার মূলভাব (বাংলায়)
কবিতায় প্রকৃতির সৌন্দর্য ও শান্তি ফুটে উঠেছে, তবে একইসঙ্গে মানুষের দায়িত্বের কথাও বলা হয়েছে। অরণ্য শান্তি ও বিশ্রামের প্রতীক, আর প্রতিশ্রুতি ও দীর্ঘ পথ দায়িত্বের প্রতীক। কবি বোঝাতে চেয়েছেন—বিশ্রাম আকর্ষণীয় হলেও আমাদের কর্তব্য পূর্ণ না করা পর্যন্ত চলতে হবে।

কবি বাড়ির দিকে বা এমন জায়গায় যাচ্ছেন যেখানে তার দায়িত্ব আছে। তিনি যাচ্ছেন কারণ তাকে তার প্রতিশ্রুতি রাখতে হবে এবং কাজ শেষ করতে হবে।

Answer: The poet stopped because the woods looked very beautiful with falling snow. He wanted to enjoy the calm and peace of nature.
