Assertive to Interrogative
Assertive sentence সাধারণভাবে কথা বলা বুঝায় (e.g., "He is a good boy.") আর Interrogative sentence প্রশ্ন করে… (e.g., "Isn't he a good boy?").
The Golden Rule of Transformation
Meaning অভিন্ন রাখতে "Reverse Polarity" বা “Positive-Negative” পদ্ধতি ব্যবহার করো:
-
If the Assertive sentence is Affirmative (Positive) →Make the Interrogative sentence Negative.
-
If the Assertive sentence is Negative →Make the Interrogative sentence Affirmative.
1. Sentences with Auxiliary Verbs
Auxiliary (helping) verb যেমনঃ am, is, are, was, were, have, has, had, shall, will, can, could, should, would থাকা sentence কে Interrogative করতে শুধু auxiliary verb কে শুরুতে নিয়ে আসো আর Golden Rule ব্যবহার করো (add 'not' if it's positive, remove 'not' if it's negative).
Rule: Auxiliary Verb + n't + Subject + Rest of the sentence + ?
Examples:
-
Assertive (Positive): He is a brilliant student.
-
Interrogative (Negative): Isn't he a brilliant student?
-
Assertive (Positive): They were playing football.

2. Sentences without Auxiliary Verbs (Action Verbs)

-
Use Does/Doesn't for singular subjects (He, She, It, যেকোনো নাম) in the present tense.
-
Use Didn't for the past tense.
